SCHOOL BOARD TRAINING (SBT) SERVICES
Training for School Board Members and Prospective School Board Candidates
LEVEL ONE (Required Code Training) Services:
- Generally Delivered in Cluster Sessions or Via Videoconferencing
- (A) SBOE Required Training Course [19 TAC § 61.1 (b) (1)(B)] (http://www.tea.state.tx.us/sbmt/law.html)
- (B) Update Training Required by Actions of a Regular or Called Session of the Legislature [19 TAC § 61.1 (b) (1)(C)]
LEVEL TWO ("Team of Eight") Services:
- Required Team Building Activities Focusing on the "Team of Eight" [19 TAC § 61.1 (b)(2)]
- Delivered in Individual Sessions for A Single Board Only
LEVEL THREE (Continuing Education) Services:
- Additional Training Required as a Response to Team Building and Assessment [19 TAC § 61.1 (b)(3)]
- Locally Requested Level III Training Accommodated Under Group Facilitation Service
CANDIDATE'S PREFILING WORKSHOP
- TASB will no longer be presenting the school board candidates workshop at Region 10. The information will be presented as steaming video. To view the video click here.
Commitment and Registration
- Commitment to Participate in LEVEL TWO Services Sought Annually
- Registration for LEVEL ONE, LEVEL THREE and the PREFILING Workshop Events Initiated by the Staff Contact for the Division of Administration through the Superintendent's Office Prior to Each Training Event
Fees
- The Fee for This Service is Communicated to the District Superintendent Annually as Part of the Commitment Process.
- This Service is Included in the Package of Administrative Services.
- CANDIDATE Workshop Has No Fee
