School Counselor Certification is Here!
The Region 10 Professional Educator Preparation (PrEP) has developed a program for school counselors.
The Region 10 Program shares the vision of the American School Counselors Association (ASCA) “to help students focus on academic, career and personal/social development so they achieve success in school and are prepared to lead fulfilling lives as responsible members of society.” The standards provided the framework for the development of the modules. Also taken into account were the domains and competencies of the TExES. Curriculum has been organized into modules. Competencies from the ASCA recommendations have also been included for coursework, and then competencies are also developed for the field-based internship.
Program Fees
- Application Fee $50
- Registration Fee $750 - due by beginning of course work
- Internship Fee* $4000 - payroll deducted on a monthly basis during the internship
* Internships outside of Region 10 have an additional fee of $300
Additional fees paid to other agencies
- SBEC Fee for Probationary Certificate $52
- TExES Exam $120
- SBEC Fee for Standard Certificate $77 (at completion of program)
